MSDS were successful in tendering for the Hills Road Water Supply Upgrade. The works involved the construction of one 300NB municipal supply well targeting aquifers with >20 L/s yields to a depth of 100mbgl.
Disposal of water generated during drilling and aquifer testing proved to be the biggest challenge as it had to be conveyed to a stream located on the other side of Hills Road. MSDS installed a permanent pipe under Hills Road to maintain an unimpeded flow of traffic during the contract. This would also serve as a means to discharge water for any future works conducted onsite.
The contract was completed successfully on time, on budget and achived target yields of 70 L/s for approximately 10m of drawdown.

McMillan SDS were successful in tendering for the exploration phase of the Pegasus Town Municipal Water Supply. Given the importance of securing a reliable and high quality water supply for over 2,000 residential lots and associated amenities, particular emphasis was placed on the exploration works. Drilling methods were selected to ensure accurate sample recovery for detailed lithological logging and aquifer tests were conducted throughout to establish performance and water quality.
Working alongside project engineers, McMillan SDS were faced with numerous challenges to ensure monitoring bore installations were constructed successfully and to ensure key aquifers were able to be monitored. McMillan SDS installed a 5 level multi-level piezometer to a depth of 240mbgl using proprietary design and construction techniques. Equipped with electronic transducers and data loggers, high quality data was obtained from the installation during extensive aquifer testing. The data formed an integral component in the development and calibration of a hydrogeological computer model to present a sensible case to the local regulatory authorities for consent application.
Subsequent to the exploration McMillans were awarded the construction of 2 large diameter production bores complete with deep pre-collar sanitary seals.
The contract was completed on time and on budget.
