


Water Supply Exploration and Construction
Project Manager – Lyell McMillan (100% tenure)
McMillan Pacific (a Fiji based subsidiary of McMillan Specialist Drilling Services – MSDS) were engaged to drill a number of water supply bores throughout Fiji as part of a Rotary Pacific – Water for Life Fund initiative to upgrade village water supplies. As ome of the villages are remote this introduces logistical and access issues and requires careful planning and project execution. To date the project has been successful in improving the water supplies at a number of villages.
Anchor Design and Construction – Wind Farm (see a wind turbine being lifted into position)
Project Manager – Iain Haycock (100% tenure)
McMillan Pacific Ltd were successful in tendering to construct the anchored foundations for the FEA Wind Farm turbines at Butoni FIJI.
The ground anchor design was undertaken by McMillan Pacific personnel and enabled cost effective solutions to be adopted in the highly variable foundation conditions. Holes varied between 100NB and 150NB to depths up to 30mbgl. Using one anchoring rig the average daily anchor installation rate was 4, with 10 installed at peak production.
This contract was completed successfully, well ahead of time and within budget.
